At The Recovery Lab, we approach recovery as a process of building awareness, regulation, and capacity over time. Our work is grounded in health psychology and shaped by the understanding that emotional wellbeing and physical health are deeply connected. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we help people develop skills that support stability, resilience, and meaningful change in daily life.
We take a collaborative, thoughtful approach to care that honors each person’s experience while remaining rooted in evidence-based practice. Across individual therapy, therapeutic groups, and community-based programs, our focus is on helping people slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and respond to life with greater intention and flexibility, not just during difficult moments, but in the rhythms of everyday living.

What We Mean by Mind–Body Care
When we talk about mind–body care, we’re talking about paying attention to how the body and nervous system respond to stress, emotion, illness, and pain while learning how to work with those responses rather than fighting them.
This includes understanding patterns like tension, fatigue, overwhelm, or shutdown, and developing practical tools to support regulation and recovery. For some, that may involve learning how to calm the body under stress. For others, it may mean building awareness of internal cues, increasing tolerance for discomfort, or improving focus and energy over time.
Mind–body care isn’t about staying calm all the time or “doing it perfectly.” It’s about learning how to notice what’s happening, make informed choices, and return to balance more effectively again and again in ways that support long-term wellbeing.
